Project description

Over the years, GPLC has developed a relationship of trust with various religious congregations in the region. Over the last few decades, we have produced numerous plans and reports to allow them to monitor their properties, especially in Beauport and Sillery. It is therefore hardly surprising that the Sœurs de la Charité de Québec turned to us to prepare the certificates of location they needed for the major transaction they concluded with Quebec’s Ministère de l’Agriculture, des Pêcheries et de l’Alimentation (MAPAQ).

A true haven of agriculture in the heart of the city, this 203-hectare property was sold to the MAPAQ in the fall of 2022 in order to develop an eco-friendly, community-focused agricultural education project. Surveying such a large site is no small task! First, we had to control occupancy along shared property lines with several hundred neighbouring lots. Moreover, the Sœurs de la Charité de Québec were among the first and largest occupants of this sector of Beauport. The massive property has been subdivided several times since the 1950s, resulting in several easements to maintain and improve underground infrastructure. We are proud to have provided the stakeholders of this historic transaction with thorough, detailed survey documents while sticking to a very tight schedule.
